Stanford University Global LLC is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Seed Business Transformation Advisor.

The Senior Seed Business Transformation Advisor (“Senior BTA”) is recognized as an expert and mentor within the organization and has in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in a discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function, anticipates internal and/or external business challenges; recommends process, product/service improvements, contributes to the development of functional strategy, leads teams with broad visibility to achieve milestones and objectives. This position drives curriculum development, delivery, and training, and brings business experience, an educator mindset and facilitation expertise to Stanford Seed’s entrepreneurship programs. This position supports the scaling of SMEs, leadership, and team training, including general entrepreneurship development. This position reports to the Regional Director.

CORE DUTIES

  • Contribute to the curriculum strategy and serve on Seed’s program design working group, which will lead the design of curriculum for the Seed Transformation Program, Spark, Aspire and future programs; this role may contribute to the design of Network-facing entrepreneurship programs as well.
  • Accountable for the on-going design, and/or refinement of STP including Immersion Weeks and curriculum development projects; project manage BTA input on curriculum development projects.
  • Work with program design and delivery team(s) to ensure consistent versions of assets – managing updates and revisions to materials especially.
  • practitioners who can make and deliver program content that is customer-relevant.
  • Provide coverage for BTA staffing gaps, as needed.

Training

  • Develop and implement an effective process for training and communication to share best practices of facilitation across BTAs and regions; build communications with GSB and across regional teams.
  • Based on the experience of regional teams in onboarding new BTAs, develop best practices and guide the process for/of onboarding future BTAs.  Share best practices across regions and teams.
  • Ensure that BTAs understand and are aligned on curriculum elements and are ready to execute – and facilitating the balance between consistency and customization.
  • Oversee training/onboarding of BTAs by region and model appropriate boundaries and scope of facilitator/BTA role.  Build communication with GSB and across regional teams.
  • Organize periodic reviews of BTA positions.

Program Evaluation & Learning

  • Assess program efficacy and support the development of local case studies.
  • Analyze customer data from across regions and programs, including cycle debriefs, surveys, other feedback to identify gaps and suggest priorities for curriculum and training initiatives that are aligned with overall strategy.

These duties may be adjusted as needed to suit the business of Stanford University Global LLC Ghana or Kenya Branch.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in business, organizational design, leadership, or project management at an accredited university and seven (7) or more years of management, and/or business-related consulting experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be passionate about transforming small to mid-sized companies in East/West Africa
  • Ability to inspire others to act boldly to succeed in their chosen business or industry.
  • An advanced level of fluent English skills both oral and written, including active listening and interpersonal skills needed work with a broad range of individuals.
  • Must have entrepreneurial experience.
  • Experience working remotely and leading team meetings remotely.
  • Must be able to solve complex problems to assist with the business needs.
  • Highly developed business acumen, preferably in an academic setting; strong relevant subject matter knowledge.
  • Able to keep abreast of general industry knowledge and trends.
  • Excellent communication skills to build collaboration across global teams, including fluency in English. Preference for proficiency in French, Portuguese, Swahili and/or other languages in Africa.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills.
  • Experience managing in a matrix organization.
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and empathetic.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience designing and leading management trainings, ideally for SMEs.
  • SME experience in Growth Strategy development required.
  • Must have international education / professional experience with US, and emerging markets.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Ghana and/or Kenya.
  • Will work variable hours, evenings, or weekends.
  • Will travel locally and/or internationally with occasional overnight travel.
