We are seeking  for a well-organized, resourceful professor and lecturers to join our excellent faculty. The professor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a requisite number of graduate classes, assisting with the development of course material, supervising postgraduate students, regularly publishing journal articles, serving on committees, attending conferences, writing proposals for grants, delivering presentations, and handling other administrative duties. To be successful as a professor  and lecture, you should be able to balance teaching and research responsibilities. Outstanding professors are able to conduct independent research, accurately allocate resources, and provide subject-related and management advice to the faculty. The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) is  appointment  as follow Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and Assistant Lecturers in the Departments of Anatomy and Physiology, Clinical Studies and Pathobiology at the School of Veterinary Medicine

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• lecture planning, preparation and research
• Contact and teaching time with students.
• Checking and assessing students’ work. encouraging personal development via tutorial or pastoral work
• The lecturer has the task of supporting the design, development, and production of study and teaching materials and delivers in various modules or a subject area.
• It ensures the efficient delivery of teaching programs according to the strategies, policies, and procedures of the university.
• To keep up with current research activities in their areas of expertise. This includes reading journal articles, attending conferences, and staying in touch with other researchers in their field.
• Teaching a requisite number of graduate classes, assisting with the development of course material, supervising postgraduate students,  serving on committees, attending conferences, writing proposals for grants,
• Assisting with student recruitment, interviews, and academic counseling sessions.
• Traveling to other universities or academic settings to participate in learning opportunities and gain experience.
• Participating in committee, departmental, and faculty meetings.
• Providing training and mentoring to teaching assistants and junior lecturers.
• Reviewing methods and teaching materials and making recommendations for improvement.

Job Qualification/ Requirements

In all the positions, applicants must possess Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) qualification from a recognized institution.

Professor

• For appointment to the grade of Professor, applicant must have a PhD in Anatomy or Pathology or Surgery from a recognized University and must have served as Associate Professor or analogous grade, in a recognized institution for a minimum of THREE years. Applicants must have a minimum of ten (10) publications in high-impact journals.

Associate Professor

• For appointment to the grade of Associate Professor, applicant must have a PhD in Anatomy or Pathology or Surgery from a recognized University and must have served as Senior Lecturer or analogous grade in a recognized institution for a minimum of FOUR years. Applicants must have a minimum of eight (8) publications in high-impact journals.

Senior Lecturer

• For appointment to the grade of Senior Lecturer, applicant must have a PhD in Anatomy or Pathology or Surgery from a recognized University and must have served as Lecturer or analogous grade in a recognized institution for a minimum of FOUR years. Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) publications in high-impact journals.

Lecturer

• For appointment to the grade of Lecturer, applicants must have a PhD in Anatomy or Pathology or Surgery from a recognized University. Additionally, applicants must possess the relevant teaching, research or other experience relevant to this position.

Assistant Lecturer

• For appointment to the grade of Assistant Lecturer, applicants must possess a Research Master’s Degree in Anatomy or Pathology or Surgery from a recognized University. Additionally, applicants must possess the relevant teaching, research or other experience relevant to this position.
