Job Overview

Food Packer communicate customer orders to the kitchen. He or she works closely with the front of house, to ensure that kitchen staff are well informed with food orders for preparation and that all orders are well organized and ready to serve customers. Also provide the necessary ingredients and assist the cooks in whatever they need to perform their jobs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Receive orders from front of house and audibly call out orders to kitchen staff.
• Pack prepared orders as needed in a systematic and chronological order, or according to how front of house need the orders.
• Ensure portion size is correct and orders have been labeled correctly and sealed properly.
• Provide the Cooks with all the items they need to prepare orders.
• Organizing and correctly storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.
• Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Packer’s instructions

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

The Food Packer should have these qualifications/experience/skills to occupy this position:

• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Ability to stay professional in a stressful work environment
• Good Multitasking skills
• Ability to pay attention to details
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
