Overview

An international furniture supply and retail chain is looking for the services of a Chief Financial Officer.

Job Description

  • Develop a deep understanding of business, brand, products, operations, and positioning.
  • Perform a thorough review of the finance function, including processes, procedures, and tools, to recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of strategic and value creation plans; actively contribute to the development and modification of these strategic plans for the finance function.
  • Develop a Finance strategic plan, aligned with the Company’s long-term objectives, together with associated work plans to deliver the plan on agreed timeframes.
  • Establish or modify Finance organization to carry out the Finance strategic plan; oversee Finance & Accounting personnel hiring, training and development.
  • Implement the Finance strategic plan as aligned with the Company’s objectives and lead other value-creation work as required.
  • Lead development and formalization of Finance policies and processes, including procedures, key performance indicators, etc.
  • Establish data capture and collection processes to ensure high quality and accuracy
  • Design, implement, and manage dashboards, Management Information Systems, and data interfaces
  • Ensure timely reporting
  • Lead development and maintenance of cash forecasting tools and methodologies.
  • Apply appropriate local and international standards for accounting calculations.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure proper accounting, including an established accounting firm to perform annual audits.
  • Manage the effective operations of accounts receivable and payable functions
  • Lead design and execution of liquidity management policies and processes.
  • Check the monthly bank reconciliations prepared by the chief accountant.
  • Check and verify the monthly VAT prepared by the chief accountant.
  • Coordinate with the bank – forex deals, banking facilities and deposits.
  • Preparing forecasts for banking facilities and coordinating with the banks for facility renewals.
  • Preparation of annual business plans and budgets as well as medium- and long-term financial/strategic plans.
  • Develop and apply methodologies and tools for financial forecasting.
  • Assist Senior Managers in monitoring the financial and budgetary positions of their departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local governance standards.
  • Manage controls and practices to mitigate governance risks associated with employee actions.
  • Monitor and record compliance issues.
  • Apply appropriate standards in contractual relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Checking the import payments, duties & taxes payments.
  • Coordinating with auditors regularly to ensure GRA compliance.
  • Coordinating with tax consultants on tax payments, computations, compliance, GRA queries.
  • Overseeing Export sales process and documentation to ensure full GRA compliance.
