1. Vice President

The Vice President shall be in charge of the academic affairs of the University. He or she must be an Associate Professor or a Senior Lecturer with 5 years post Professor or Senior Lecturer experience. He or she must be well published in international peer review journals.

Job Summary: The successful candidate is expected to provide vision, leadership and direction in all aspects of the University’s academic programs, including instruction, service, research, scholarship, and creative activity. This would require that the incumbent collaborates with all other divisions of the University, providing strong linkages with student services, recruitment and admissions, information technology and business functions.

2. Professors/Associate Professors/Senior Lecturers/Lecturers /Research Fellows

Job Summary: Successful candidates would be equipped to carry out research, teaching and sometimes administrative work within the institution. This may require industrial collaborations, travels and programmes deliveries. The successful candidates will work closely with colleagues to enhance rich academic and professional delivery in line with the vision of the University.

Successful candidates may be appointed as Deans/Directors/HoDs to the following schools/faculties:

Main Responsibilities for Lecturers/ Teaching Fellows/Research Fellows

  • To carry out research and produce publications or other research outputs.
  • To teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in areas allocated by the Dean and reviewed
    from time to time.
  • To supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate project work/internship/postgraduate
  • To help develop, plan and implement high quality curriculum of education in the field.
  • To assist in developing learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining
    records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
  • Attend University and Faculty meetings.
  • To complete all mandatory University training programmes.
  • To engage in other assignments as specified by the Dean of the Faculty.
  • Understand and support the vision, mission and values of the University.
  • Be prepared for team work communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Commit to and undertake continuous personal and professional development.
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably requested of the position.
  • To facilitate the recruitment of students for the Department

General Requirements

  • PhD in the related area preferred
  • Professional experience required
  • Experience in research and teaching at the tertiary level
  • Publication in international referred journals
  • Member of a Professional Body would be an added advantage
  • Demonstrate experience in research and scholarly potential

Main Requirements for Non-Academic Positions

  • The successful candidate will possess a graduate degree in a relevant discipline with 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Relevant experience must include a minimum of 5 years of experience leading, supervising, coaching staff in a higher
    education environment, with experience also in project management and business process assessment.
  • A background in human resources management is also beneficial. The candidate must demonstrate a solid understanding of the Regent University College’s mission, vision, goals and its constituents.
  • The candidate must also have a significant knowledge base of information technology for progressive technical approaches for improved service and efficiency.
  • The candidate must have advanced problem-solving abilities focused on delivering exceptional service. These approaches must be integrated into the ability to motivate, direct, and lead a team through delegating, mentoring, empowering, and investing in developing the Office of Registrar team and providing leadership within the University environment of multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent persuasive communication and presentation skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and strong analytical ability are essential. Initiative and follow-through are vital to this role, and you must be able to organize competing priorities.
  • Other competencies crucial to this position include flexibility, planning & coordination, problem-solving & judgment, leadership & motivation, teamwork & collaboration, accountability, attention to detail, relationship building, strategic focus, organizational awareness, and results and service orientation.

  • Excellent proposal writing skills and advanced knowledge in presentation software applications
    Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience in working alongside and communicating with students.
