Overview

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Transport Officer. AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined. The Transport Officer is accountable for the monitoring and control of documentation and permits that covers Fleet Documentation, Inspections, Permits and Driver management as well as controlling of pool vehicles to standard. This is the point of control of operator skills in compliance to operate mobile plant, equipment and vehicles underground.

Also accountable for the transition to operations, through the application of operational policies, standards, processes and procedures to maximize plant availability in a sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks in order to meet the business’ strategic objective.

Key Accountabilities

Qualification

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Automobile Maintenance or equivalent

Experience 

• At least 5+ years of relevant experience
• An experienced document control officer, with experience of mine vehicle permits, operator permits and compliance
• Understand Ghana Highway Codes
• Knowledge of SAP PM Module

• Legally astute with respect to project delivery and maintenance system
• Excellent skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel
• Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing
