Semi Senior Auditor

Overview

This is a full-time Audit Semi Senior role located in Tema, Ghana which offers flexibility for some remote work. The Audit Semi Senior will be responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of audits, preparing financial statements, maintaining client relations, and mentoring junior staff. The role also involves reviewing the work of junior staff.


What You Will Do

  • Assisting in preparing financial statements with the required disclosures in compliance with the required financial reporting framework.
  • Participating in carrying out audit planning activities identifying significant risks and developing audit procedures to mitigate those risks.
  • Obtaining sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to aid in forming the audit opinion.
  • Assisting in reporting to senior on areas of compliance to statutory obligations as well as recommending ways of rectifying areas of non-compliance.
  • Carrying out detailed procedures on relatively high-risk areas identified during the audit.
  • To prepare samples of transactions to be vouched and traced for each cycle.
  • To inform the Audit Senior of any issues or observations gained during the audit fieldwork and on any audit cycles
  • To provide guidance to associates on audit schedules to be prepared and audit tests to be performed.
  • To review the work of the associates.
  • To provide Audit Seniors with feedback on staff assessment under supervision.
  • Conducting internal control test work and performing walkthroughs to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Assist in preparing audits and other related reports preparation.
  • Assist Audit Senior in the preparation of analytical review

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences

  • Working knowledge of auditing standards and principles
  • Experience in public accounting or related field
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and to review the work of junior staff
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A minimum of first degree in the accounting-related field and/or three passes in level two (2) of professional qualification (ICA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Auditing
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
