Overview

Our restaurant is seeking a Procurement Manager with proven experience in supply chain management in the food service industry to develop, implement and oversee effective procurement strategies for the business.

Role is designed for a six-month contract with potential to extend.

What You Will Do (Job Scope)

1. Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective for a mid-sized restaurant, including sourcing best prices for ingredients and other key restaurant inputs, and minimizing stock-outs.
2. Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
3. Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous pricing and delivery
4. Reviewing existing arrangements with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
5. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
6. Preparing and reviewing market lists, approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of consistently high quality goods and services.
7. Performing risk assessments on potential supply contracts / arrangements.
8. Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
9. Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
10. Preparing procurement reports.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
• Proven experience managing supply chain operations in the food industry (or similar).
• Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
• In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Management and leadership skills.
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
