Overview
PhD Candidate seeking a research assistant for contract work.
What You Will Do
- A successful candidate should be capable of performing a range of research and coordination duties:
- Perform literature searches and reviews;
- Perform online searches and data gathering;
- Abstract and synthesize information;
- Assist with interview scheduling, note-taking, and other qualitative data collection, such as cognitive interviews, site visits, and focus groups;
- Support administration and oversight of survey tasks, such as preparing training materials, delivering training, and performing quality control activities;
- Conduct surveys and other quantitative research and analysis;
- Contribute to reports, briefs, memos, and technical assistance documents;
- Compile and track information in spreadsheets and databases;
- Summarize information using descriptive statistics, tables, and figures;
- Recruiting, hiring and managing enumerators for surveys and interviews;
- Provide substantive oversight and coordination of research projects, to include overseeing enumerators who will be performing surveys;
- Acquiring all necessary official documents, ensuring compliance with regulations; and
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of the researcher.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Fluency in Twi or another Ghanaian language
- Competency with Microsoft Excel
- University graduate
- Previous research experience is a MUST
- Previous experience interviewing people
- Punctual
- Able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable managing others
- Ability to work independently and problem solve without direction
