Overview

We are seeking an experienced quantity surveyor to join our organization. In this position, you will estimate the costs of our construction projects, tender and award process of subcontracts, and placement of materials orders. You will be based on site, following up the site progress with the team, and subcontractors, elaborating progress reports and interim monthly valuations to subcontractors and Client. You must have strong organizational and communication skills in order to manage and direct development plans, experience in large and complex buildings projects such as hospitals. You must know the local market and the suppliers.

What You Will Do

1. Review design plans and prepare quantity needs.
2. Estimate the quantity and costs of works and materials.
3. Prepare contracts and documents.
4. Set budgets for payments, inventory needs, and materials.
5. Track changes in plans or constructions; update budgets
6. Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors.
7. Keep track of construction materials and inventory.
8. Prepare payments for contractors and subcontractors.
9. Document progress, materials, and reports on project
10. Develop and maintain working relationships with contractors and subcontractors.
11. Utilize software to calculate, record, and track inventory and estimates

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences

• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of general construction estimating experience, on building projects
• Previous experience working on a General Contractor, on large building projects, will be valued
• Highly Proficient in computer skills such as Microsoft Office tools and Autocad; Previous experience on BIM will be valued
• Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results
• Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and cost reports
