Overview

A multinational company into the production of quality and healthy biscuits is looking to hire a Purchasing Officer to work with.

• Must have at least 4 years experience as a Purchasing Officer with in the manufacturing industry 

What You Will Do

1. Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
2. Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
3. Track orders and ensure timely delivery
4. Review quality of purchased products
5. Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
6. Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
7. Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
8. Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
9. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
10. Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences

• BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
• Must have at least 4 years experience as a Purchasing Officer with in the manufacturing industry
• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
• Hands-on experience with purchasing software (e.g. Procurify or SpendMap)
• Understanding of supply chain procedures
• Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
• Negotiation skills
