Project Manager (Construction)

Job Summary:

Seeking a self-starting, highly motivated and goal-oriented project manager with knowledge of turnkey small business / residential facilities. Able to read, understand, and review architectural plans to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality and control. Requires a very organized and systematic approach to guarantee a quality product.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between HQ management and local subcontractors, customer’s agents, and other stakeholders.
  • Make sure that work is being done within set timeline, budget and expected quality.
  • Reviews job specifications and blueprints to determine construction requirements and communicate this information to all relevant parties assigned to the job site
  • Understands material and equipment needs for projects and coordinates their delivery at each phase of the project.
  • Coordinates and supervises all framing activities and keeps project manager and subcontractors informed as changes occur in the field to ensure deadlines.
  • Conducts regular quality inspections of trade work, determines that instalments are per job specifications, and makes corrections when necessary
  • Consistently monitors subcontractors’ performance and provides feedback to the project manager
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications
  • Produces and retains field reports and documentation. Supervises completion of punch lists, closes out all job sites, files notes, and documentation, and cleans up the job site at completion of project
  • Make sure that job site remains organized and safe. Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees
  • Able to manage multiple projects, prepare schedules and supervise project completion
  • Maintains composure, professionalism and objectivity in difficult situations and effectively resolves conflicts without escalating tension
  • Demonstrates confidence in spotting construction productivity issues and taking action to resolve them before the project is negatively impacted
  • Scope Management – Manages a list of project deliverables (scope) using the recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully.
  • Schedule Management – Manages the project schedule using the recommended project management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction / Renovation/ Project Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management/construction science or 5+ years of relevant experience in a superintendent role
  • Must be proficient in reading and understanding plans, specifications, drawings and project schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates professionalism, able to meet deadlines and works well under pressure
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of carpentry, materials, resource allocation, construction tools, and execution according to plan specifications
  • proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Valid driver’s license is required with a clean record
