Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to lead and manage our Innovation Hub as part of the Young Africa Innovates (YAI) program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the hub’s activities, ensuring program targets and metrics are met, and fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration. This role involves working closely with a range of stakeholders, including grassroots organizations, and local communities in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Management and Oversight: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of program initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall objectives of the YAI program.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program performance against set targets and metrics. Regularly report progress to stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with all program stakeholders, including funders, community leaders, and participating organizations.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a diverse team, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Resource Allocation and Budget Management: Oversee the allocation of resources and manage the program budget effectively.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to the program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Community and Partner Engagement: Engage with local communities and partners to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into program strategies.
• Innovation Facilitation: Encourage and support the development of innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by youth in the target regions.
• Capacity Building: Develop and implement training and development programs for hub staff and program participants.
• Sustainability Planning: Contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Innovation Hub through strategic planning and partnership development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a non-profit or international development context.
• Proven track record of managing programs with multiple stakeholders and meeting or exceeding targets and metrics.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation practices.
• Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities in innovation and youth development in the African context is an advantage.

Location and Duration

The position is based in Ghana with occasional travel to other regions as required by the program. This is a full-time role for the duration of the YAI program.
