OVERVIEW

Garage is an auto maintenance and financing platform that connects car owners and fleet owners to highly vetted mechanics and help with distribution of auto parts.

The Pod leader role will play a key role in supporting Garage’s strategy to build the largest auto maintenance and financing platform in Africa. Successful candidates in this role will be great communicators, driven, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, resourceful, highly organized and able to work with limited supervision. All candidates must also be comfortable with change and adept at working in fast paced environments (prior experience working in operations at a startup is a plus). Knowledge of the auto sector in Ghana is vital to be successful in this role. Candidates with relationships or key understandings of roadside auto mechanic operations in Ghana are a plus. You must also be comfortable working in the field for at least 8 hours a day.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a pod leader, you will have full ownership of a cluster of mechanics and act as a CEO ensuring the growth and success of your cluster

• Onboarding new mechanics to garage spare part financing program
• Collecting list of spare parts mechanics need
• Delivering spare parts to mechanics
• Supporting and managing the performance of mechanics in Garage’s spare part financing program
• Ensuring Sales growth across your cluster
• Ensuring mechanic retention across your cluster
• Daily tracking of part sales at mechanics
• Assisting mechanics with diagnostics services
• Assisting mechanics with any issues they face
• Brainstorming ideas with Garage leadership to drive growth in your cluster
• Any other activities assigned by Garage leadership to support mechanic operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with excel, word, PowerPoint,Google Drive
• Proficiency with data analysis
• 2+ years experience working in the automotive space.
• Street smart and resourceful
• Superior problem solving skills
• Excellent communicator (verbal, text, email)

Preferred qualifications 

• Bachelors in automobile, electrical or mechanical engineering
• Experience working in operations at a startup
• Experience in supply chain and logistics a plus
