A reputable health facility in Achimota is seeking for competent and reliable Medicine Counter Assistant (MCA). Medicine Counter Assistants (MCA) or Pharmacy assistants help pharmacists order, prepare and dispense medicines. Pharmacy assistants work as part pharmacy teams in community pharmacies. Some work in retail pharmacies in supermarkets or on the high street. Dispenses prescription medication and other medical products to patients under direction of pharmacist. Counts pills, labels bottles, prices, and compounds medications to prepare prescriptions for patients as directed

Job Duties

•  Dispenses prescription medication and other medical products to patients under direction of pharmacist.
•  Counts pills, labels bottles, prices, and compounds medications to prepare prescriptions for patients as directed.
• Assist with stock control
• Keeping the pharmacy tidy
• Using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
• Ordering items
• Receiving, loading, unloading deliveries
• Sale of over-the-counter medicines
• Answering customers questions face to face or by phone
• Pre-packing, assembling and labelling medicines
• Preparing medicines
• Referring problems or queries to the pharmacist
