Male Accounts Officer In Tema

OVERVIEW

As an Account Officer for our trucking company, you will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, and providing essential support to the finance department. Your primary duties will involve handling tax filings, SSNIT payments, fuel and rental expense records, payroll processing, issuing payments, and generating monthly reports. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently within deadlines.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Tax Filing:

  1. Prepare and file all necessary tax returns accurately and on time.
  2. Stay updated with the latest tax regulations and ensure compliance.
  3. Collaborate with external tax advisors as needed.

SSNIT Payments:

  1. Calculate and process monthly SSNIT payments for all employees,
  2. Ensure prompt and accurate remittance to SSNIT authorities.
  3. Maintain records of SSNIT contributions for auditing purposes.

Fuel and Rental Expense Management:

  1. Record daily fuel consumption for each truck and maintain detailed fuel expense records.
  2. Keep track of rental charges for equipment and facilities used by the company.
  3. Prepare and process payments for fuel and rentals in a timely manner.

Payment Processing:

  1. Issue checks and make payments authorized by management, ensuring proper documentation.
  2. Maintain accurate payment records and reconcile payments with invoices.

Payroll Management:

  1. Create and manage the payroll process for all employees.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and benefits.
  3. Handle any payroll-related inquiries or issues from employees.

Waybill and Tonnage Compilation:

  1. Compile waybills from each work executed by the trucking team.
  2. Record and input tonnages from each job into the system.
  3. Maintain organized records of waybills for future reference.

Monthly Financial Reports:

  1. Prepare comprehensive monthly reports detailing expenses and income for the company.
  2. Present financial data to management for review and decision-making.
  3. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree/ HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and payroll processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word).
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 26-30 years
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of the trucking or transportation industry is a plus.
