Overview

WEC recently invested in a Brand new 6,000 sq. meter workshop on a 65,000 sq. meter fabrication yard. The workshop is fully equipped with the latest CNC technology machines to increase its production capacities and get more market shares with our Clients. Production machines installed include a CCNC Plasma Cutting Machine. WEC is now looking for an experienced CNC Plasma Cutting Operator for the new workshop.

Responsibilities/ Functions

• Know the functions of the machines. (training will be provided)
• Able to read the CNC programs and modify them under Production manager monitoring.
• Check all aspects of his machines at the beginning of a shift.
• Clean and maintain the machines at the end of the shift.
• Report any anomalies to the Production manager.
•  Check dimensions of materials to be machined before setting it into the machines
• The Machine Operator is responsible to run the machines he has been allocated to perform the production in terms of quality, quantity, and planning.
• Load and unload the burning table using the overhead crane with chains or magnet
• Remove cut product from the table, stack on pallets or place in bins, and ensure timely delivery to the next department as required
• Program and operate plasma cutter
• Program and set up using proper gases and cutting tips
• Generate multiple part nesting’s
• Perform routine maintenance including cleaning machine and workspace
• Troubleshoot program
• Work in accordance to established safety rules and good housekeeping practices
• Work on additional equipment or tasks outside the job description as directed by the Plant Manager
• Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures when defective parts are discovered
• Complete quality control and daily production reports accurately
• Safety Sensitive Position
• Must be able to work independently

Competences Requirements / Qualifications

• Must speak English fluently.
• Must have at least 1 to 10 years of experience in CNC production lines and preferably for the oil & gas or Structure industry.
• Must have a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or production engineering.
• Must be in good health to work in a workshop.
• CNC controlled plasma cutting system
• Experience with overhead cranes, basic hand tools, tape measure, calipers, and air grinders
• Experience using Hypertherm ProNest software
• Abler to read interpret blue prints and understand part tolerances per print specification
