An international furniture supply and retail chain is looking for an experienced Category Manager to be stationed in Accra.

What You Will Do

Description of the tasks of the mission:

Participate in the definition of the product;

• Analyze the products (set of product characteristics).
• Study the consequences related to the launch of a product on the purchasing process (modification of quantities, expansion of product families, etc.).
• Recommend adjustments to the preferred offer according to purchasing constraints and, conversely, define the purchasing plan related to the launch of a product offer.

Manage and animate the supplier panel;

• Study, build, update and manage the supplier portfolio.
• Set up a rating system and map the supplier base.
• Manage and computerize the supplier database.
• Integrate all these actions as part of a global supplier relationship management project.

Expansion of the supplier “portfolio” ;

• Carry out a permanent watch on large supplier locations (Morocco, Europe, Asia, America).
• Prospect and identify new suppliers in a given area, study the characteristics of their offer and participate in their selection.
• Carry out, with the pre-selected suppliers, the necessary studies allowing decision-making.

Participate in negotiations on all criteria (price, quantity, etc.);

• Follow the start of production at the supplier when the latter joins the supplier panel.
• Follow the manufacturing time of each product introduced as well as the lead time transport in order to avoid any stock shortage.

Product Stock Management;

• Manage and optimize inventory management (inflows and sales of goods) to minimize the level of inventory without risking shortage.
• Design and coordinate the entire supply chain on time.
• Set up the storage of products (product rotation, duration of disposal of a container) according to store sales.
• Supervise the processing of orders by ensuring compliance with costs and deadlines.

Guarantee the availability of goods;

• Monitor the implementation of products in stores in collaboration with merchandising teams and store managers in order to get closer to the visual charters defined by suppliers.

REMUNERATION

Net Salary GHS3,500 (negotiable)
