Cashier/Teller Needed At A Financial Institution

A financial institution is seeking to employ a Cashier/Teller.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and count working cash at beginning of day
  • Identify customers, validate and cash cheques
  • Receive cash and cheques for deposit, verify amounts and check accuracy of deposit slip
  • Process cash withdrawals and ensure procedural compliance i.e. verify signatures, ensure written and numerical amounts agree and ensure accounts have sufficient funds.
  • Assist customers deposit and withdraw their monies
  • Receive and verify all payments i.e. loan, investment, savings etc.
  • Record all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with company procedures
  • Balance cash, coins, cheques in cash drawer and other payments (mobile money) at end of each day
  • Answer client inquiries regarding accounts and other related products and provide information on procedures
  • Attempt to resolve issues, problems and discrepancies with customer’s accounts
  • Initiate and open new accounts for clients
  • Identify transaction mistakes when debits and credits do not balance and ensure to rectify them.
  • Keep periodic balance sheet of amounts and number of transactions
  • Explain, advise, promote and sell products and services to customers
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures
  • Obtain and process information required for the provision of services

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

 Knowledge and skills includes

  • HND / Diploma in Business Studies (Accounts / Finance options) with three (3) years post qualification relevant experience.
