Business Development Officer at A Reputable Company

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job

Our company is looking for a skilled Business Development Officer to plan, execute and monitor performance of our electronic payment solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for finding business clients/customers, making presentation and sales pitch, and closing the sales.

Duties And Key Responsibilities

  • Drive merchant acquisition through sales and innovative marketing
  • Generate and grow sales (volume and value) for products and services
  • Prospect by making presentation to target market and retain existing customers
  • Engage in market research where necessary to identify new opportunities for business
  • Respond in a timely fashion to queries and complaints from clients as regards to the company’s products
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge about the business and its development practices, its marketing activities, prospective clients, and the trends for the industry
  • Participate in forums related to the industry, conferences and client discussions
  • Prepare product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information
  • Submit weekly/monthly/quarterly and yearly reports as well as itinerary to immediate Supervisor
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication
  • Handle complaints, provide appropriate or alternatives solutions within the time limits allowed for resolution of issues
  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies

Skill Set Required

  • Proven sales and relationship management skills
  • Track record of over-achieving achieving sales targets
  • Ability to make write proposals and do presentation
  • Be able to focus on a lead and close sales
  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of electronic Payment industry products (knowledge POS, online API, mobile Apps etc).

Qualification

  • Degree or HND or equivalent
  • Preferably with not less than 2 years working experience
