The Boiler Operator will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and the responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-

• Ensure that the shell, kernel and fibre cyclones operate in the desired manner;
• Regulate the shell lever in hopper to avoid choking;
• Look out for leakages on all cyclones and report such to the Supervisor;
• Ensure that there is adequate fuel and water during operations to stabilize the boiler at the required level at all times;
• Ensure the avoidance of over firing, under pressure, over pressure and low and high-water levels of the boiler;
• Ensure the regular running of the feed pumps
• Check for the dosing pump operation;
• Regenerate ion exchanger with report from the laboratory results;
• Carry out regular soot blowing; and
• Compare water gauges and corresponding remote indicators.

Required Skills or Experience

The successful applicant must possess MET I/NVT II/WASSCE or its equivalent with 3 years professional work experience in fixed plant maintenance of Palm Oil Processing Mill with at least 2 years recent experience in a similar role.
