Overview

A  thriving Logistics company is searching for unique talent for the position of Accountant. The person will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Accounts Department and will report to the Head of Finance.

What You Will Do

The  candidate will undertake the following as part of his/her daily routines:

1. Responsible for the General Ledger
2. Preparation of Statutory Accounts
3. Supporting the External Audit process
4. Responsible for  full balance sheet reconciliation
5. Responsible for  payroll duties
6. Completion of  pay as you earn (PAYE) and VAT returns
7. Overseeing financial software system development and testing
8.  Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
9. Liaising with the  Tax team in relation to  VAT queries/support
10. Responsible for managing and delivering month-end reporting, including accruals and prepayments
11.  Ensure country-specific policy compliance of the business
12. Deputising the Head of Finance in his or her absence
13. Spotting and resolving accounting irregularities

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences

• Must have qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience
• Must have excellent work knowledge with the use of excel
• Must have a working knowledge of applicable financial laws, codes and regulations
• Must have a working knowledge of accepted accounting practices, principles and practices.
• Practical knowledge and experience of accounting software packages, for example: sage
• Must be knowledgeable in  economic and auditing principles
• Chartered status in ACCA, CFA or CIMA would be an advantage.
• Must have expertise in financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, financial data analysis, forecasting and advice.
