Richard Dogbe, Founder and CEO, JobHouse Ghana
JobHouse was founded during level 300 undergraduate studies at University of Ghana, Legon. The desire at the time was to help fresh graduates have access to job listings online instead of relying heavily on job vacancies listed in newspapers. Each working day, I’ll wake up at dawn and buy the leading newspaper in Ghana and update our website (at the time jobhouse.org) with all vacancies. This happened from 2010 till 2012 without making any financial gains. At the time, the drive to assist job seekers was the only game. I was combining this with studies and during my national service, I began to put in even more hours into JobHouse. It was not until end of 2012 that we started making some financial gains. By this time, our job website changed from jobhouse.org to jobhouseghana.com then to jobhouse.com.gh.
In 2015, we incorporated the business into a limited liability company. JobHouse started making real impact after 2014 when I completed my MBA programme from University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). We decided to revise the company strategy to focus more on recruitment and HR.
Today, our company has over 800 outsourced staff sectors as construction, service and more. Our direct employees now stand at 16 as at May 2019. Over 70% of our staff got their 1st full-time job with our company. We also try to balance the sexes in our workplace; 7 females, 9 males as at May 2019.
