A furniture retail company is looking for a creative Visual Merchandising Technician to increase sales, get buyer’s attention and to provide an excellent in-store experience. The goal is to use visual merchandising to convert window shoppers into prospects, drive branding and sales objectives and maximize profitability.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Founded in 1993, our client is a leader in the retail and supply of furniture in Africa. The company has a retail shop area of more than 50,000m2, 33 points of sale with more than 1,000 employees and 2 stores in sub-Saharan Africa. Ghana is the latest addition and Accra is the starting city.

What You Will Do

1. Produce window displays, signs, interior displays, floor plans and special promotions displays
2. Define, design and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy
3. Create appealing and eye-catching visual displays that lead the customer through the entire store
4. Oversee the production and brief staff on arranging displays
5. Change displays to promote new product launches and reflect festive or seasonal themes
6. Research lifestyle, demographics and design trends
7. Installing and setting up window displays, walkways, counters, and in-store displays, or supervising contractors hired for this purpose.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences

• A minimum of a Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications/Interior Design, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as a Visual Merchandiser/Visual Manager.
• Comprehensive portfolio of relevant visual design work.
• Experienced at using Adobe Creative Suite programs, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or other visual design tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Working knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices.
• Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and survey results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
