Reintegration & Social Work Coordinator at BRAVEAURORA

The NGO Braveaurora is looking for a suitable candidate to lead its reintegration program. The candidate will work fulltime, leading a team of three or more social workers to execute projects and activities in child protection across the Northern Regions of Ghana. The candidate should be willing to live in Walewale or Guabuliga in the North East Region.
Braveaurora has offices in Austria, Switzerland and Ghana. The organization has worked as a non-profit for 11 years in Northern Ghana to develop rural communities and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and their families. Job Summary
The specific responsibilities of the candidate will include;

  • Leading a team of social workers to scale child protection projects
  • Initiating and implementing best and effective practices in social work
  • Promoting quality and cost-effective interventions and outcomes in social work.
  • Adhering to professional standards as outlined by acts, protocols, rules and regulations
  • Managing caseloads, review case progress and determine case closure.
  • Training case workers and managers in case management.
  • Providing quality assurance and support to social work professionals
  • Monitoring cases across the Northern Regions
  • Coming up with media and sensitization strategies in child protection.
  • Documenting and sharing best practices
  • Building up of a climate of trust and mutual cooperation with reunified children and young people
  • Active collaboration and pro-active approach to other NGOs on fund raising and sustainable funding.
  • Engaging in relevant social advocacy work that will promote decent, peaceful and harmonious life in operational areas.
  • Serving as a mentor and counselor to clients who may need personal or social counseling.
  • Promoting collaboration with targeted professional individuals and organizations to stimulate social work across the Northern Regions.
  • Serving as major contact person for further referral of difficult and complex cases to relevant and competent persons or organizations.
  • Supervising interns and volunteers of social work.

Qualification and Required Experience
The qualified candidate should generally possess:

  • A minimum of a degree in Social Work (a Master is an advantage)
  • Excellent team building and management skills
  • Very good knowledge in Child Protection and related state Acts and Regulations
  • Good knowledge in Information Technology
  • Good report writing and proposal and concept development skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership qualities and ability to motivate staff and clients alike
  • Good knowledge in Project Management
  • Ability to engage stakeholders on a macro level
  • Experience in strategizing and scaling projects
  • Good knowledge in advocacy and negotiating
  • Good in monitoring, supervising and evaluating projects and activities
