Overview

A reputable media house based in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana seeks to employ a Media and Radio Programs Officer to join their team;

What You Will Do

• Elaborate and produce quality radio programs on relevant issues of interest to the organization and listeners
• Provide appropriate reporting and briefing about ongoing and finalized projects
• Develop messages, content and script for various radio productions
• Monitor radio broadcasts and assesses the impact on targeted audience
• Develop communication strategy on specific radio programs;
• Develop partnership on selected activities and programs with relevant stakeholders
• Contribute to the media and environment scanning
• Research topics and background information for items to be featured on the programme
• Plan and rehearse shows, Write and sometimes memorise scripts
• Keep the programme running to schedule, responding positively and quickly to problems or changes and improvising where necessary
• Liaise with other members of the production and technical teams
• Any other tasks and duties as may be assigned.

Experience and Knowledge

• At least 3 years of relevant communications, radio and/ or television-related work experience;
• Strong working experience with media and radio program production
• At least a Diploma in media and communication, journalism, social science, and/or related courses.

Skills

• Excellent communication, networking, and inter-personal skills
• Innovative and creative thinking in relation to communication
• Proven excellence in writing and editing skills
• Good knowledge of computer tools, web and layout design an asset.
