Responsibilities

• Operate laundry machinery such as washers, driers and ironers.
• Load articles into machinery and set cycles to regulate machine processes and the volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives.
• Examine and sort into lots articles to be cleaned, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required.
• Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, to locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment.
• Sort/segregate and count articles removed from dryers  and fold, wrap or hang articles ensuring quality standards.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the assigned machinery and equipment all the time. Report to supervisor any unusual function of the equipment.
• Ensure cleanliness of entire laundry area all the time.
• Sort torn and stained articles for reporting purposes and record loss of linens due to stains, tears and wear.

Requirements

• Must hold a high School Certificate or its equivalent
• Previous laundry experience required
• Physical ability to handle heavy duties
• Knowledge of laundry chemicals, usage and safety related requirements
