Commercial Manager

Responsibilities

  • Develops, reviews and implements strategic and sound commercial management systems, processes, policies and procedures to support the business
  • Handles forecasts and projections for sound management decisions
  • Identifies commercial problems and ensures that solutions are implemented
  • Reviews customer and supplier terms and conditions to the interest of the organisation
  • Reviews customer enquiries ensuring requirements are understood and translated into clear and definitive tender strategy in accordance with defined scope of work
  • Prepares and ensures commercial aspects of proposals and orders aare to the best advantage of the company and risks are identified by providing commercial management support
  • Develops and maintains pricing sheets that reflect accurately, the proposals submitted to clients.
  • Regularly reviews and updates standard price data and costing matrix and provides support to the Managing DIrector in the review of pricing strategies.
  • Prepares product status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and recommend actions.
  • Ensures that the organisation’s debt recovery risk exposure is minimized, monitored and managed efficiently resulting in productivity and profitability and also avoid leakages and losses.
  • Manages prices, quotations, purchasing orders and match orders (chemicals, containers and any other goods or stocks) of company and clients to ensure that deliveries are duly done to the end point.
  • Designs effective inventory monitoring and reporting system.
  • Generates an up-to-date container tracking system
  • Understands and ensures that sales contracts are signed and all relevant documentation effectively managed.
  • Handles clients requests and ensures that the orders are placed with the appropriate suppliers and volumes.
  • Manages the commercial team by providing mentoring and guidance in carrying out their day-to-day objectives and assign objectives to ensure effective distribution of workload.
  • Provides appraisals of all associated staff and training plans to support their learning and development.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Required Skills or Experience

Educational Qualification and Experience

  • MBA in Finance, Business Administration, Oil & Gas Management, or its equivalent.
  • Professional qualification in ACCA/ICA/CIMA, etc.
  • Exposure in shipping and logistics will be an added advantage
  • Commercial experience in the oil field services industry
  • Minimum of 10 or more years of work experience in Commercial, Customer Analysis & Reviews or similar position.
