A reputable firm is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager.

Job Purpose: Responsible for business growth and profitability strategies with emphasis on creation of customer loyalty and partnership opportunities in order to meet company objectives.

The Jobholder contributes at operational level by identifying opportunities in addition to ensuring provision of client-focused service. Accomplishes business development activities by researching, developing and implementing opportunities within the entire scope.

Job Duties:

Business Development

  • Collaborate and interface with clients in establishing opportunities.
  • Leverage on good client relationships to seek for business add-ons
  • Follow up on prospective leads within business location
  • Preparation of tenders in liaison with the management.
  • Achieve set targets as outlined in KPI
  • Anticipate Market dynamics and advise management while innovatively devising strategies around them
  • Responsibility for ensuring risk is managed on contractual issues and the company is not exposed
  • Anticipate client needs and proposes alternative business solutions that build on current business.
  • Manage all billing issues according to agreed schedule with client.
  • Manages the product deliverables to maximize revenues and meet corporate objectives
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system for all clients and final accounts settlements up to the point of payment
  • Attend client meetings

Client Management and Communication

  • Grow long-term healthy relationships with client with a purpose of building on current and future opportunities
  • Take leadership role in team and client meetings.
  • Resolve client issues quickly and satisfactorily.
  • Effectively communicate relevant client information to superiors and peers in other departments.
  • Tactfully manage sensitive information and communicate responsibly to client.
  • Follow up with clients, when necessary, regarding payments.
  • Complete surveys and produce pricing documents and contract terms.

Delivery   

  • Establish and disseminate site information flow
  • Offering advice to operations and account management teams
  • Track activities within existing client sites to ensure contractual agreements are upheld
  • Coordinate periodic project-related photographs for records.
  • Act as a liaison between the departments and external parties in expediting production and delivery of relevant site materials, documents, drawings etc.
  • Suggest alternative solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently.
  • Keep the Site Manager, designers and sales team well informed of client expectations
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Any other duties as directed by management from time to time

Specific job Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Understanding of budget management
  • Ability to communicate and interact with relevant stakeholders including clients and staff.
  • Knowledge of the tender preparation process
  • Able to work to timescales and under pressure
  • Demonstrate adaptability in meeting client needs.
  • Possess a good level of practical skill in the use of Microsoft Office packages, estimating packages and Company specific software.
  • Possess an excellent understanding of commercial and financial matters
  • Able to represent the Company professionally when dealing with clients, design teams and others.

Education

Minimum

Four-year college degree preferred; additional/advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing and communications a plus.

Certificate in computer studies.

Experience/Qualifications

  • At least 5 years business development or senior sales experience
  • Target setting, budget creation and statistical analysis experience
  • Statistical analysis and revenue generation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer care experience
  • Team Leadership skills and experience
  • A mature, presentable and focused professional.
  • Proven track record of successes in achieving revenue objectives.
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate and train sales team.
