Overview

We are looking for a the following position network engineer ,Systems administrator, System engineer and Desktop Engineering Support. who will be responsible for maintaining and administering our company’s computer networks. Your primary duties will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. You will also be working closely with the users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desire

Standard Responsibilities and Key Objectives

  • Provide desk-side and telephone IT support to users for PCs, printers and mobile devices
  • Provide all aspects of desktop hardware/software support including moves, adds, changes, replacing hard drives and re-imaging.
  • Monitor and respond to assigned trouble tickets. Update tickets with status
  • Ensure LAN connectivity and quick resolution of desktop/network anomalies
  • To ensure 7 day continuous support, staff may be required to work on rotational basis for weekends or on occasion after work hours

Person Specifications for Support Analysts

All personnel provided should be able to effectively communicate in English.

Job Functions/Tasks

  • Higher National Diploma (in Computer Science or IT) with at least three to five years IT experience or
  • Computer Science Degree (or IT) with at least 3 years’ experience;

Skills

  • At least three years of PC hardware, software and network technical support.
  • Three years of experience within a Microsoft Windows Operating system environment, Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, WinZip. Experience in Installing, configuring and troubleshooting software and using Remote Desktop access.
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting windows 7
  • Experience in basic printer maintenance.
  • Experience in using a Service Desk ticket system.
  • Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree
  •  ITIL Foundations
  • Experience with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007.
  • MCP or MCSA, MCITP certification

NB:

  • Daily interaction with variety of clients. Must refer questions or concerns outside technical area to other team members in order to achieve client satisfaction.
  • The majority of work will be performed at client locations which may vary in terms of quality of workspace. Must be able to lift, carry, and reposition all parts of user workstations, network appliances, and printers. Consecutive hours spent sitting in front of computer monitor and using keyboard and mouse. Daily driving from one client location to another
