Introduction

A Restaurant located in the Dansoman is seeking the services of an Intern to work as an Accountant to support its Finance and Administration Department. The Accountant will support with all accounting activities and all other issues related to the department.

Position Title: Accountant (Intern)

Position Description: The Accountant will support in all Finance and Accounting activities in the company and all other activities as assigned.

Job Summary

The Accountant role is summarized as:

• Support storage of all Accounting documents such as invoices, regulations, receipts, pay – slips and others (Digitally and Manually)
• Work as the Cashier of the restaurant by receiving cash payments and reconciling daily sales
• Supervising and ensuring daily cash made by the restaurant is paid to the bank by the assigned officer
• Supervise daily or weekly stock audit of items bought by company and requisition of stock
• Ensuring pay-slips from Banks are filed timely and appropriately
• Manage stock, receive and process requisition for stock from different departments
• Prepare weekly sales and stock reports, etc.
• Ensure the preparation of Payment Voucher for all financial transactions as per the company financial code
• Liaise with Human Resource Department on payroll preparation and approval processes for salary payments
• Prepare monthly and annual tax returns for all company activities for filing at the appropriate offices (SSNIT, GRA and others)
• Provide weekly and monthly reports or updates on financial activities
• Other relevant activities as may be assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting
• Knowledge in any accounting software
• Experience in working in a Restaurant (optional)
• Being a residence of Dansoman is highly recommendable

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Work Environment is conducive to effectively perform all Accounting work activities. For an Intern to successfully perform the essential functions of an Account, He/She should be physically healthy/strong and able to move around easily while performing the responsibilities.

Duration: The period of work for the Accountant will be for an initial Six Months, renewable based on performance.
